Riots in Jakarta against Suharto dictatorship imposing own leader on Democratic Party on July 28, 1996. The riots begin since the emerging people power at June 20th following Sophan Sophian etc as leader march to Soeharto’s Palace at jalan Merdeka, Monas. This mission is to protest of Soehartos unfair policy. Unfortunately, in front of Gambir railway station, around 200 meters nearby from the palaces, several military and polices apparatus of this stubborn military regime beaten the mass brutality. In fact a few weeks later, the people have been consolidated and stated to stand firmly for Megawati’s PDI‘s. They are sworn voluntarily to defend The PDI’s Megawati head quarter in jalan Diponegoro. This PDI headquarter has been seized by Soeharto’s loyalist. By the conspiracy scenario under BG Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) as master mind, they were attacking Megawati supporters at dawn since the July 27th late night. Then early morning many people come to help them from the sadistic action of the Soeharto’s iron fist. And then the riots begin. As a result of his loyalty to Soeharto, SBY have been promoted from one star BG to the two stars MG and install as the Commander of Sriwijaya Division (southern Sumatra’s Military Area).
